What is the danger

The rubber of the balloons releases an excessive amount of nitrosatable substances generating n-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA)(measured value: 1.2 mg/ kg). NDMA is a nitrosamine, which may cause cancer through ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could be exposed to it when touching or putting the product in the mouth.

Requirements breached

The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-12.
