What is the danger
The plastic of the USB power cord has an excessive concentration of bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (measured value up to 0.39 %, 0.49 % by weight, respectively). Prolonged exposure to them through the skin may cause cancer. The solders in the product have an excessive concentration of cadmium and lead (measured value: up to 0.037% and 3.28 % by weight, respectively). Cadmium bio-accumulates and poses a risk to the environment. Lead poses a risk to the environment.
