What is the danger

The product expands 50% in size when in contact with water. If a child puts it in the mouth or swallows it, the contact with saliva or stomach liquids will cause the figurine to expand, which can result in occlusion of the respiratory track or intestinal blockage.

Requirements breached

The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71.

Description

The product consists of a red shell of brittle material with holes, with a green, highly absorbent polymer, rhinoceros inside. When immersed in water, the swelling material increases the size of the cornea and breaks down the eggshell.
