What is the danger
The rubber of the balloons releases an excessive amount of nitrosatable substances (measured total value: up to 1.88 mg/kg). Nitrosatable substances can be transformed into nitrosamines which may cause cancer through ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could be exposed to them when touching or putting the product in the mouth.
Requirements breached
The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71-12.
