What is the danger

The steering system may lack adequate corrosion protection and could severely corrode over time. As a result, the housing of the steering system may develop cracks or suffer material damage. This could lead to a loss of gear mesh between the rack and pinion, potentially resulting in a failure of the steering function, increasing the risk of an accident.
