What is the danger

The rate of nickel release from the ring is too high (measured value up to 2.95 µg/cm2/week). Nickel can cause skin irritation, induce sensitisation or elicit allergic responses. Moreover, the product has an excessive concentration of cadmium (measured value: 0.93% by weight). Cadmium is harmful to human health because it accumulates in the body, can damage the kidneys and bones and it may cause cancer.
