Requirements breached

The wire ends soldered to the terminals of the control unit and to the lamps are not adequately protected against pulling and twisting. The wires can come into contact with the sharp edges of the control unit. The insulation provided by the shrink tubing for the bulbs is inadequate. The product is not protected against moisture although recommended for outdoor use. The wires can overheat as they are too thin. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60598.

The notification has been updated accordingly and is now published in the same report under A11/0065/15. 3) Upon request of the notifying authorities, the risk assessment of notification A12/0703/15, published in weekly report no. 22/2015, has been modified. The updated notification is now published in the same report in the section on products posing "Other risk levels" under A11/0068/15.
