Requirements breached
The plastic material of the duck contains di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (measured value 26% by weight). This phthalate may harm the health of children, causing possible damage to the reproductive system. Moreover, the duck is small enough to be put in the mouth by children which can cause them to choke on it. According to the REACH Regulation, DEHP, DBP and BBP phthalates are prohibited in all toys and childcare articles. The product does not comply with the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-1.
