What is the danger
The amount of nitrosamines released by the balloons is too high (measured value up to 2.3 mg/kg).
Requirements breached
Nitrosamines are genotoxic carcinogens via inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure. A child can get exposed to them by putting the balloon in the mouth. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive and the relevant European standard EN 71-12.

The category in notifications A12/1638/19 and A12/1641/19 has been changed from "Cosmetics" into "Chemical Products" after agreement with notifying authority. An additional distributor and the related voluntary measures have been added to A12/1641/19 on request of the notifying authority. In agreement with the notifying authority the products in notifications A12/16438/19 and A12/1641/19 have been changed to product not of professional use.
